HOW OFTEN ARE SCHOOL OF STYLE CLASSES HELD?
School of Style classes are typically held every three months in Los Angeles and every four months in New York City. Please check our schedule page for the latest updates. Future class dates are announced and open for registration only after each current class series is completed. We do not book class series more than four months in advance due to the fact that Luke and Lauren’s own styling careers are a determining factor in our yearly class calendar. For the most up to the minute class schedule updates, we recommend signing up for our email newsletter.

DO YOU OFFER INTERNATIONAL CLASSES?
School of Style does not presently hold classes outside of the United States.
CAN INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ATTEND SCHOOL OF STYLE?
International students are most welcome to attend School of Style classes. Since 2008 we have been host to students from all over the world. We ask that international students consult their local embassy or passport agency for matters regarding immigration law, however to our knowledge most students traveling to the U.S to take our classes do so using a tourist visa.
DO I NEED ANY PRIOR FASHION INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IN ORDER TO ENROLL IN SCHOOL OF STYLE CLASSES?
Students of all levels of experience are welcome to attend School of Style classes. Our classes are structured so that they are equally beneficial to those students with prior experience as to those without. Many of our students have little or no experience in the fashion industry, while others have a considerable degree of proficiency in various fields within the fashion industry- including styling.
ARE THERE PREREQUISITES FOR THE VARIOUS SCHOOL OF STYLE CLASSES?
Yes. Class One – The Business must be completed before moving on to our other classes. Class One is our introductory, foundational class. Without the body of knowledge presented in this class, students will lack the basic framework on which the other classes are built.
Our Personal Styling class does not have a prerequisite. This class is based on its own unique business model and as a result may be taken alone, or as part of our regular class series.
In rare cases the Class One prerequisite may be waived. Contact us via email if you feel you are qualified for exemption based on unique personal circumstances.
DO I HAVE TO TAKE SCHOOL OF STYLE CLASSES IN ANY PARTICULAR ORDER?
Yes. Our classes must be taken in the order in which they appear on our class calendar. Our classes are structured so that one class creates the context for the classes that follow it. Taking them in order provides the most benefit in the shortest period of time.
Personal Styling is a stand-alone class, and may be taken as part of our entire course, or independently.
ARE CLASSES HELD IN CITIES OTHER THAN LOS ANGELES AND NEW YORK?
Our primary locations are Los Angeles and New York City. We also sometimes offer Class One and Personal Styling in various other U.S. cities. In 2014 we are offering Class One and Personal Styling in Chicago, Dallas, and San Francisco, and Class One, Two, and Personal Styling in Washington D.C.
CAN I TAKE ALL OF SCHOOL OF STYLE’S CLASSES IN NEW YORK?
No. For logistical reasons, Classes One, Two, Three and Personal Styling are the only classes offered in New York City. However, many of our East Coast students frequently travel to Los Angeles in order to attend The Shoot and Tour of Style after they have completed our New York series.
CAN I MIX AND MATCH LOS ANGELES AND NEW YORK CLASSES?
Yes, due to the fact that the Shoot and Tour of Style are not offered in New York, it is common for our east coast students to take the rest of the classes we offer. Note Classes One – Three are offered in New York and are all that are required for graudation.
CAN I TAKE CLASS ONE IN ANOTHER CITY, THEN COMLETE THE REST OF THE COURSE IN LOS ANGELES OR NEW YORK CITY?
Absolutely! Class One is identical in format regardless of which city it is presented in. Once the Class One prerequisite has been fulfilled, you may take any of our other classes wherever they are available.
I AM COMING FROM OUT OF TOWN, HOW DO I MAKE TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS?
We encourage students to utilize travel websites to find travel arrangements that suit their needs. School of Style does offer some basic travel suggestions for both Los Angeles and New York, which can be found on our Locations Page.
ARE THERE AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR ATTENDING SCHOOL OF STYLE?
No. All ages are welcome at School of Style. Students between the ages of 13 and 50 have attended and benefited from School of Style classes. The average age of our students is 25 years.
HOW MUCH DO SCHOOL OF STYLE CLASSES COST?
The costs of our classes vary, depending on which class or class combination you choose to attend. We offer combination package discounts when multiple classes are purchased together.

DO YOU OFFER FINANCIAL AID, LOANS, GRANTS, OR PAYMENT PLANS?
No. School of Style does not offer financial assistance for our workshops. We are a private school, and are not accredited nor funded by the state.
Classes must be paid for in full prior to attending our classes.
ARE SCHOOL OF STYLE’S CLASSES REFUNDABLE?
School of Style does NOT offer refunds under any circumstances. Class credits may be issued if the reason for absence meets our criteria regarding missed classes.
ARE CLASS DATES TRANSFERABLE? CAN I CANCEL MY CLASS AND USE THE CREDIT TOWARDS A LATER DATE?
Class credits for missed dates are transferable only if the following criteria are met:
If you are unable to attend your scheduled School of Style class and need to cancel or reschedule, a written notice must be received one week prior to your scheduled class date. A written notice received after the one-week period will result in a loss of your class credit unless you can provide proof of illness via a doctor’s note, death of a family member, and flight delays with documentation. Space in our classes is limited. Due to this fact we are unable to make exceptions to this rule.
DO YOU OFFER A CERTIFICATE OR DIPLOMA UPON CLASS COMPLETION?
Yes. We present all graduates who qualify for our Style Society with a certificate of completion. Completion of all School of Style classes is a great asset to your career and a powerful addition to your resume. All graduates are encouraged to use School of Style as a job reference, and we are happy to confirm the details our your training to a third party at any time. DO YOU GUARANTEE JOB PLACEMENT ONCE I HAVE COMPLETED SCHOOL OF STYLE?
School of Style does not make any promises in regard to your future employment, however we are extremely successful in providing our graduates with powerful industry contacts and job opportunities as part of our Style Society program. Many of our graduates have utilized our exclusive Style Society Job Network to gain internships and jobs with some of the industries most well-respected and talented stylists, and photographers. We also work closely with many top national styling agencies in order to make introductions on behalf of our qualified graduates. Style Society membership requirements are outlined here.
