A Look Inside a Stylist’s Kit

A stylist doesn’t leave home without their kit — it’s like a mother leaving home without a diaper bag, it makes no sense! You know what I’m saying?

A stylist’s kit has everything you need to make your client look their best and everything you will need in emergency situations (fashion emergencies, that is.)  Here is a sneak peak of what you might find in a stylist’s kit. I would tell you everything that belongs in the kit but you know what they say … Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?

Inside a Stylist's Kit

1.) Garment bags: For keeping all of the fancy borrowed clothes safe and sound.
2.) Sand paper: Great for roughing up clothes to make them look perfectly worn in.
3.) Leather hole punch: For punching extra holes into belts and things.
4.) Ziploc bags: These are a must!! Just trust me, you will use them.
5.) Prop bag: To hold all of your stuff and to keep it all organized.
6.) Rolling racks: Where else are you going to hang the clothes?
7.) Steamer: The most efficient way to remove wrinkles.
8.) Hand steamer: Awesome for getting wrinkles out in a hurry (just remember to unplug when you are finished.)
9.) Black safety pins: Bet you didn’t know they came in black?! Great for making temporary alterations to clothing without the shine of a standard safety pin.
You can buy all of this good stuff at Western Costume Co. in North Hollywood, CA.  To learn more about what belongs in the kit (there is a lot more than 9 products) … enroll yourself into (wait for it) The School of Style.
